Orbán: Continuing the war is in Ukraine’s interest, Hungary may hit back with energy measures
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that for Ukraine, the continuation of the war is a “matter of life and death”, arguing that Kyiv’s financial survival depends on keeping the conflict going. Speaking at a government forum in Békéscsaba, he also raised the prospect of retaliatory steps by Hungary in the energy sector if tensions escalate further.

After opening with positive local messages, Orbán warned of what he described as “clouds towering above our heads”, according to 24.hu’s summary. The PM called Békéscsaba a battle-scarred city with historical experience of conflict, saying this was why the government chose it as the venue for an “explicitly anti-war” gathering.
During the event, audience members asked whether oil deliveries through the Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline could resume before the next election, and what Hungary should do if Croatia refuses transit for Russian crude. One question even suggested reconsidering holidays in Croatia if energy cooperation fails.
Orbán did not give a clear answer on when supplies might restart.

If by that you mean The Western Elite, who have entirely subverted Ukrainian Sovereignty, (all the while claiming to defend it) then, yes – continuing the war to overthrow Vladimirovka is definitely in their interest.
On the other hand, if, by that, you mean The Ukrainian People, then, no – the war has been, from the earliest days The Western Elite began weaponizing it for Operation Barbarossa 2.0, totally against their interest, and, as well, their pets.

I wonder, if the Ukrainians are truly almost all being forced to fight this war against Russia, and if they are actually prepared to submit completely to Russia, why has the great Fatherland Army from Russia not even come close to achieving its goal of subjugating Ukraine?
Any war that isn’t supported by a large part of the population end within a short time. You don’t need to be a historian to know that. A historical example is the capitulation of the Tsarist army to Germany in World War I.
The truth is, besides the voluntary resistance and willingness to sacrifice of the Ukrainian people, it’s probably due to the neglected and deplorable state of this Fatherland Army and the lack of military and technical capabilities.

This is the only way to explain the unbridled hatred that often erupts when their self-esteem or their psychological defense mechanism, which enables their underlying repression process, feels threatened. All of this combined amounts to a complete brutalization of their psychological state.
These people now see an opportunity to rewrite history to their advantage and give their hatred an outlet, from which they unconsciously hope to find relief. This, of course, cannot and will not be fulfilled. Human history is full of such figures, and one doesn’t need to look to Hitler and Stalin to recognize this.
To implement such a totalitarian system in reality, intelligent actors are needed who exploit it for their own benefit. These are unscrupulous “leader types” who have no moral qualms about doing absolutely anything to gain an advantage for themselves.
Believing that you can convince such people is about as likely as trying to convince a dog to live a self-determined life. They don’t understand what you’re talking about! Any discussion with these hate-driven individuals only provides them with a public platform to act out their pathological fantasies of violence and present them as perfectly normal.
In summary Russia is a shit-hole that spews non-stop propaganda for the feeble minded such as the Putinist Fidesz loyalists. There are two types of Fidesz supporters: those that are feeble minded who will believe the lies fed to them and those who are naked opportunists that know what’s going on but benefit from the corrupt system.

More than half of Ukrainians have fled the country – (22-23,000,000) which tells you what they think of this war.
Have you not noticed how the 18-24s fled the country, recently, when it became obvious that they, too, would be sacrificed on the altar of The Western Elite?
Moreover, your notion that the Ukraine could not be a part of the country they were a part of for 1,000 years (excluding far western Ukraine – which is not Russic) or that there is no middle ground to deal with both The West and Russia, is a false construct designed to further the very circumstance we have – a vicious and vile war.

In an interview with Fox News, Whitkoff announced a meeting in the US between Zelensky and Putin, which Trump could also attend, aimed at ending the war. The meeting is reportedly possible “within the next three weeks.”

The one person who is desparate not to end this war is Putin. First if it ended now Putin would be in jeopardy for gaining so little while expending the lives of 300,000 Russians and injuring another million. He would be completely politically vulnerable and knives will be waiting for him. Secondly, the whole economy has been distorted to focus on military production and expenditure on servicemen. You will have hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers returning home with no job and many with deep social problems leading to violence. Millions working in armaments industries will lose their jobs. The state has burned through all of its’ savings and is running up debt. Russia will go into a deep recession when this war ends and Russia will be much weaker than when it started which will create widespread popular anger towards Putin’s regime. Putin is caught in a vice he created. He will not stop this war.
