PM Orbán may turn to Rubio instead of Trump: One of America’s big players heading to Budapest?

According to the latest reports, Marco Rubio, the United States Secretary of State, could visit Budapest on 15–16 February. Sources Panyi Szabolcs and his investigative outlet VSquare indicate that the trip may take place following the Munich Security Conference, although the schedule could change at any time due to the current global political climate.

The discussions are expected to focus primarily on energy issues, continuing the series of talks that Orbán Viktor and Robert Fico recently held with Donald Trump in the United States. Of particular interest to Hungary is the potential to secure exemptions from American sanctions on Russian energy companies.

Trump’s visit to Budapest remains uncertain

    • No, Dear Larry, I do not smell any desperation on the part of Fidesz – but, yes, Orbán knows he is in the lead and he wants to keep up that momentum.

Also, as I have said XI, Putin, and Netanyahu, not to mention, Meloni, Fico, La Pen, Klickl, Farage, and Vucic, are all for Orbán, and against Magyar, as well as untold hundreds of millions of us who are conservative.

Oh, and yes … our beloved president, Donald J. Trump, will be working on pumping up his friend, Orbán Viktor, until April 12.

If anyone ought be ‘desperate’ it ought be Magyar.

Given his standing with Hungarian Rednecks, he is not positioned to win.

      • @mouton is not some American redneck. He is running a script from the Russian playbook called “active measures”. Look it up. In summary: seeding doubt, inflaming division, pose as someone you’re not to manufacture the appearance of grassroots support for Orban’s Kremlin-friendly agenda.

The tell? Real people have messy, inconsistent opinions. They post about their lives, their interests, their local concerns. @mouton posts like he is clocking in for a shift.

To everyone else: this is what information warfare looks like. Don’t engage, don’t amplify, just flag and move on.
