According to the video, such a move is necessary because the opposition is being financed from abroad. Therefore, organizing a fair election is impossible. According to Telex, the video in question was fabricated by AI, while the Hungarian government denied such plans in a laconic statement, writing, “This is nonsense.” Gergely Gulyás told the press at a press conference yesterday that the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office will file a police report in connection with a video claiming that the 2026 general election will be delayed.

The date of the election is regulated by the constitution and does not allow for it to be delayed under any circumstances, he said, adding that when the election is held had nothing to do with the government’s emergency powers or the war in Ukraine.
