The tragic event took place in the parking lot of a local grocery store in Maria Alm, Salzburg, Kronen Zeitung reports. According to police reports, the suspect shot the woman in the head and immediately fled the scene. The two had previously been in a relationship that ended months earlier, but frequent arguments reportedly continued after their breakup. On the night of the incident, they had arranged to meet in hopes of resolving their ongoing disputes.

Eyewitness account

A friend of the victim accompanied her to the meeting for protection and witnessed the shooting from a distance. After witnessing the crime, she promptly alerted the police. Residents in nearby houses also reported hearing the gunshot. By the time authorities arrived, the suspect had already disappeared, likely using his car, although it remains unclear whether he is still travelling with it.
