A new gastro-cultural community space has opened: light painting, music, wines, and gastronomic experiences in Miskolc’s Soho.
Hungary’s newest gastro-cultural community space opened this weekend with a festive ceremony, inviting visitors to enjoy cultured entertainment, socializing, and gastronomic experiences. Thanks to a private investment of more than 1.5 billion forints, Miskolc Soho has been transformed from a previously neglected parking lot into a vibrant community space where quality gastronomy, music and a sophisticated environment come together. Miskolc’s new beating heart is also the city’s latest tourist attraction, which fully satisfies the needs of tourists looking for a cultured nightlife.

Gastronomy, music, and cultured nightlife in Miskolc
The aim of the new gastro-cultural community space is to provide a place for city residents and visitors alike to meet and relax, whether for a light coffee, a glass of wine, or an evening concert. Miskolc Soho offers a clean, safe, bright and friendly venue where cultural programs play a prominent role alongside gastronomic specialties. In the late evening hours, with consideration for the locals, the atmosphere of the square changes to a quieter, more intimate setting for conversation, while the view is colored by a constant light show.
“When a foreigner or a friend comes to Miskolc, they start in the city center. The quality of a city center shows the strength of a city,” emphasized Dr. László Hajdú, the idea man and managing director of Expert Holocor Kft., who was one of the driving forces behind the renewal. “Two or three years ago, when we finished our fifth building block, my friend Zoltán Kovács (co-owner of the investment company – ed.) and I decided to do something with this area.”

He then mentioned the founders who serve the area with their restaurants: Ádám Lipták (Melon Café & Bar), Orsolya Farkas, Szilárd Szakács, László Vass (Rockabilly Chicken), Tamás Bárczi (A Leves és Burger, Fröccsterasz) He said that they are energetic members of the 30-40 age group who are local patriots and want to stay in Miskolc and do something for the city.
