Hungarian foreign minister meets with business leaders in New Delhi

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with executives of Tata Consultancy, Apollo Tyres and Samvardhana Motherson Group for talks in New Delhi on Tuesday, his ministry said in a statement.

Tata Consultancy Services in Hungary

After meeting with Ranjeet Goswami, the global head of corporate affairs at Tata Consultancy Services, Szijjártó noted that 2,700 people from 99 countries worked at Tata Group’s shared services centre in Budapest. He said Tata Group was working closely with Hungarian universities on cyber security and was at the forefront of artificial intelligence research.

Apollo Tyres in Hungary

Szijjártó said the head of Apollo Tyres was extremely satisfied with the operation of the company’s Hungarian plant and planned to invest in R+D, while fostering a closer cooperation with local universities. Over 1,000 people work at the plant in the northeast of the country.

Samvardhana Motherson in Hungary

Samvardhana Motherson, one of the world’s largest groups of companies, has put Mosonszolnok, Mosonmagyaróvár, Kecskemét and Túrkevét on the world automotive map, as they produce modern components for the world’s biggest car brands. The company, which employs more than 3,500 people in Hungary, will soon increase the value of its investments in the country from the current €700 million to €1 billion, Szijjártó said.
