Heat records in Hungary: 26 January, 2025 – Sunday
The national and the capital’s daily heat record was broken on Sunday: 17.3 degrees Celsius were measured in Főnyed, and 15.5 degrees in Pestszentlőrince, HungaroMet Plc. said on its website on Monday.
It said warmer air masses arrived in the Carpathian Basin over the weekend with the rising southwestern winds, resulting in a temperature of 17.3 degrees Celsius in Főnyed, Somogy county, breaking the national record for this day. The previous record for this day was 17.0 degrees Celsius, set in 1995 in Kisbér.
In Budapest, Pestszentlőrince, the daily record was 15.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, breaking the daily record for the capital. The previous record was 13.7 degrees Celsius, also set in 1995, also in Pestszentlőrince.
HungaroMet also posted about Sunday’s heat on its Facebook page. The weather on Sunday was much milder than the average for many years, with temperatures in most parts of the country 10 degrees Celsius above the climate average of 2 degrees Celsius. According to the infographic accompanying this post, the average difference was 11.2 degrees Celsius, with the western border 13-14 degrees warmer than average.
It was noted that four days ago, the daily maximum temperature deviation from the average was negative.

Two weather stations in Bács-Kiskun County, Fülöpháza Hattyus-szék and Kiskunmajsa, recorded 17 degrees Celsius on Monday, breaking the 16.8 degrees Celsius record measured in Pécs in 1936. In Budapest, the Újpest station picked up 14.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, breaking the 13 degrees Celsius record registered at the Budapest Orszagút station in 1936.

So, this kind of high temperatures DID happen before, almost a decade ago (and certainly many times before that).
Nothing about Earth’s weather and climate is “unprecedented” except the politicization of it by some of the worst megalomaniacs, control freaks, and wannabe tyrants imaginable.
You forgot to mention scientists.
“There is unequivocal evidence that Earth is warming at an unprecedented rate. Human activity is the principal cause.”
