No train departures and arrivals at Budapest railway station on first weekend in November

Change language:
The Hungarian Railway Company (MÁV) will not operate trains at Budapest’s Déli railway station on the first weekend of November, due to maintenance work.
Mávinform announced on Wednesday that it will not operate trains at Budapest’s Déli railway station on Saturday and Sunday, the first weekend in November, due to complex maintenance work.
The majority of trains will arrive at Budapest-Kelenföld instead of the Déli railway station, and start from there to rural, suburban destinations, the announcement said. The works will be noisy both day and night, so the railway company asks for the patience and understanding of people living around the station, they added.
On 4 and 5 November, the Déli railway station will not operate trains. However,
some Friday evening and Monday morning trains will be affected.
Replacement buses will run all day between Déli railway station and Budapest-Kelenföld station, departing every half hour from dawn until late in the evening. The changed timetables are now available on the MÁV website, as well as in the timetable search engines and the MÁV app, the statement reads.
Major innovation at MÁV
The data of railway station displays, i.e. the traffic changes, running times, track numbers and warnings caused by extraordinary situations, can now be displayed on smartphones, reads the Tuesday announcement on the website of MÁV.
