Vodafone Hungary enhances connectivity with VoWiFi service

Change language:
In order to improve connectivity and communication, Vodafone Hungary recently made its VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) service available to all customers who own compatible handsets. With the help of this new function, users may access Wi-Fi networks to send SMS and place regular voice conversations, even in places with weak mobile network coverage or when their device are in airplane mode.
New service at Vodafone Hungary
According to HVG, iPhones that are upgraded to iOS 17 and have the feature enabled in the Settings Wi-Fi menu can now access this service. Soon, Android smartphones will also be able to join VoWiFi. One of the advantages of VoWiFi is its usefulness both domestically and internationally. Vodafone customers can use this service without any charges as it aligns with their existing tariff plans for traffic and one-time fees. Calls, within Hungary seamlessly switch between the VoLTE/4G and VoWiFi networks ensuring communication when transitioning between Wi-Fi coverage areas. However, international calls will be disconnected when Wi-Fi becomes unavailable, and they will require a redial.

Of course nothing to do with their data and internet service infrastructure or ‘pipelines’ being overloaded in central areas of Budapest due to high numbers of tourists, especially weekends?
