Calculation Price Tag For A New Spring Collection

Spring is coming so it’s time to renew the wardrobe! In case you wish to have unique and brand new clothes in excellent quality you can choose from “the sky’s the limit” categories. When the focus is primarily on having brand new items you can face with a total sum of 30.000 forints. If we are not fastidious and gladly get dressed with second hand ones we can refresh our wardrobe from 10.000 forints and it will still be unique, hvg.hu reports. Let’s see the possibilities.

As soon as the sun comes out around March, the second thing each woman suddenly realizes that she has nothing to wear. Actually, the first thing is to be realized: the sun is already shining! Winter clothes look too old and shabby in the sharp sunlight and we feel a bit uncomfortable in black and grey fabrics which swallow the sunbeams. Even those who are not considered “shopaholic” start to hunt some light dresses around this time. By now the new collection is expected to have pushed out the standard and discounted items from the shelves thus the shoppers can better be attracted by the colorful and eye-catching new products.

According to hvg.hu, one of our experiences of our shopping tour is that there is no gender equality in clothing stores. Generally men are forced to dress more expensively than women. We could find only one place (namely the C&A) with fair prices both for women and men.

We tested some second-hand stores, shopping centers and luxury malls. Let’s take a look at their products and prices

The perfect choice: cheap and unique second-hand

The best places to find a good-quality second hand store in Budapest are around the Király and Nagymező Streets. Clothes are hanged up on coat-stands here, they are not smelling and each item has its own price. Naturally, it’s a bit more expensive since you enjoy a more civilized atmosphere missing the rummaging among the smelly amount of dresses priced at 2500 forints per kilograms. Our first stop was the Second chance store at the centre of Király Street which was opened about a year ago. The cheapest T-shirt in vivid colors that we found here was priced at HUF 990, a pink pair of jeans that was trendy in the last season cost HUF 2290, a squared mini skirt was HUF 1690, whereas a still fashionable leatherette jacket was HUF 7990 in the female department. A light blue or check patterned shirt can be obtained under five thousand forints in the men’s department depending on its trademark: a Van Laack shirt is HUF 3990, a Brooksfield is HUF 4990 and a noname one is little more than 2000 forints. Moreover, prices for men’s jeans start from 3990 forints and patterned T-shirts can be bought from HUF 1290.

The Gardrob store – at the corner of Király and Vasvári Pál streets – aims to sell goods which were selected by the excellent taste of the owner, and not to offer the quickly changed branded – Next, Topshop etc. – oversized average clothes of richer western shoppers. On our request the owner selected a turquoise Mochino jacket for HUF 8690, then a pair of shoes that goes perfectly well with the jacket for HUF 5790 and a flower-patterned pair of jeans for 2890 forints. Moreover, we found a handbag for 2690 forint from those that are so fashionable now. Well, we can also obtain pretty clothes under HUF 4000 probably in the most famous second-hand store in Nagymező street.

In conclusion: we can stylishly fresh up our closet from used but good-quality clothes for about 15.000-20.000 forints.
