The Hungarian capital was created by the merger of Budapest, Buda, Óbuda and Pest. Budapest celebrates this with nearly 100 events.
Events in the capital
Budapest has many sights, such as the Chain Bridge, the Parliament or the Fisherman’s Bastion. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the city’s foundation, there are a number of activities for visitors.
In September, an outdoor concert will be held in the famous Heroes’ Square. There will also be a Budapest Cake Competition, where the winning cake will be sold in every confectionery in the city. The Budapest History Museum will host a new exhibition on the history of the city.
Several new buildings have recently opened in Budapest. The Museum of Ethnography, the House of Music Hungary and the Hungarian State Opera.
It is worth spending several days in Budapest to make time for everything. There is a wide range of accommodation options. A new hotel is opening directly opposite the Opera House.
The historic Klotild Palace will also be converted into a hotel under the name St. Regis Hotel Budapest. In addition, the popular Vörösmarty Square will see the Dorothea Hotel as part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
Time recognition
The Hungarian capital is also recognised by time.com. The website has included it in its list of the World’s Greatest Places in 2023.
2023 will see Budapest’s landmark, the Chain Bridge’s reopening for pedestrians. It is still a question of whether cars will be able to return to the bridge. Currently, only taxis and buses can use it.

Now look at the prices for a room in the hotels listed here: really extortionate and quite unjustified.
