We reported earlier that Hungarian meteorologists expected this week to be one of the coldest of the year, bringing temperatures as low as -10 °C. However, it seems their predictions were not entirely precise. According to the latest forecasts, it will probably be colder in the coming few days in Hungary.

West Europe has been hit by a harsh cold snap. Press wrote that last night Scotland saw lower temperatures than Iceland. However, it seems that the weather will turn even more extreme than previously forecasted in Hungary. According to Időkép, in the northern regions of Hungary, protected from winds and blanketed by a thick layer of snow, temperatures may go below even -15 °C during the next two nights.

By Tuesday morning, the cold, Arctic air that rules the Carpathian Basin will chase away the clouds and lessen the winds. As a result, the heat radiation will grow significantly, so Hungary will freeze down. Temperatures will be between -4 and -10 °C countrywide. However, the mountains and the northern regions will experience even frostier conditions.
