Budapest traffic changes significantly during the weekend again

Change language:
The Budapest Transport Company (BKV) shared the changes in a recently published statement. One of the busiest bridges in Budapest is to be closed to traffic. As a result, some trams and buses will not operate during the weekend. The reason is the European Mobility Week and some events organized in the capital linked to it.
Szabadság bridge to be closed for traffic
According to a statement from the Budapest Transport Company, the Szabadság Bridge and the Vámház avenue between Fővám Square and Lónyay Street will be closed for traffic this weekend. That is because of a car-free weekend organised in the framework of the European Mobility Week.
The bridge and the avenue’s closure will start at dawn on Saturday and end Sunday evening. Furthermore, they will open the lower embankment on the Pest side for pedestrians. Moreover, cars will not be allowed to use the territory bordered by the Vámház Avenue, Üllői, Bakáts, Közraktár and Pipa streets.
