The construction phase of the renewal of the Széchenyi Castle in Nagycenk has been completed, according to the Eszterháza Cultural, Research and Festival Centre Non-profit Kft. that informed MTI on Tuesday.
National Castle Programme

As HellóMagyar reported, the development, part of the Nemzeti Kastélyprogram és Nemzeti Várprogram (National Castle Programme), will be completed by autumn this year, with a budget of more than HUF 2 billion 844 million (EUR 7.4 million), partly from EU funds and partly from domestic resources.
The main objective of the development of the castle for tourism purposes is to create a worthy national memorial site as a legacy of Count István Széchenyi.
Novelties
During the reconstruction works, the Old Manor, the Széchenyi Wing, the Flower House, the Pandur Houses, and the castle park were renovated. In the two guardhouses at the main entrance to the park (the Pandur Houses), a ticket office, information point, museum shop, and toilets were built.
In the castle park, among other things, the Baroque parterre walkways have been restored, and a fountain and a themed playground have been created. The gardens have been furnished with seating, waste bins, lighting fixtures, an irrigation system, and a new northern walled fence. An exhibition with interactive tools will be opened in the Old Manor and the Széchenyi wing in the near future.
