For all the fans of vintage themes and vehicles, BKK brought wonderful news this week: starting from May 7th, every weekend until October 31, regular heritage transport services will welcome passengers on some lines.

On Saturdays, passengers of this tram line will be met with a 114-year-old wooden tram with the number 611 on it, and on Sundays, they can see a 116-year-old bright yellow tram, bearing the number 2624. These trams had been on quite a journey ever since they were built, but with their renovated new looks, you could hardly tell they had not been made yesterday.

Anyone who purchases the tickets – for the heritage line exclusively – will be able to travel on the historical tram line, with the following route: Deák Ferenc tér–Szent Gellért tér–bank of the Danube in Buda–Katinyi mártírok parkja.

This route shows off the unparalleled panorama of the Danube riverbank and a gorgeous view of the Parliament. It passes by the Buda Castle and takes passengers on an unforgettable journey. When taking this route, no popular sight of Budapest is too far, and you can easily access the most popular museums and the most picturesque places in the city.
