Corvin-negyed metro station designers inspired by Star Wars – photos, video

Change language:
The further down into the station you go, the stronger the illusion of time speeding up. Have you ever been to a metro station that gave you this feeling? Soon, you can experience it at Corvin-negyed.
As Telex reported, the last phase of the M3 metro renovation project will start in mid-May, with the stations of Kálvin tér, Corvin-negyed, and Semmelweis Klinikák scheduled to open on 14 May.
Corvin-negyed metro station
The original appearance of the Corvin-negyed metro station inspired the new architectural concept, as Magyar Narancs writes. The platform is reminiscent of a portico where the cast-iron shell has a natural surface, with lettering painted on it in the 1970s. The enclosures are offset from each other – this aids passenger flow. The ceiling with its white colours, orange inserts, and moving lights make it look like a blurred image of the original station.
BKV Zrt. has sent a video of the architectural concept of the Corvin-negyed station on metro line M3 under renovation to Magyar Narancs.

so long time for this crap? I prefer an active metro with the old style not waiting 10 years for this stupidity
“The passenger compartment” – I think ‘platforms’ is the word. Trains have compartments, stations have platforms.
Thanks, we’ve corrected it.
Clearly no expense expense was spared. It looks cheap and was done on the cheap.
