New bridge to be built in Budapest – CONCEPT IMAGES, VIDEOS

One of the latest bridges in Budapest is currently under construction in district IX. It will connect the top peak of Csepel Island to the Hungarian capital’s circulation.
According to Pestbuda, the brand-new modern bridge will connect the Csepel Island, one of the largest islands on the Danube in Hungary, with the Pest side and will lead through an arched road right next to the National Athletics Centre in Budapest.

The 65-metres-tall pylon of the bridge which, as seen in the concept images, is the centrepiece of the bridge’s design, has been recently erected in its place.
The design of the bridge required some serious contemplation and eventually, the architects decided that the best solution was a curved bridge, which, if finished will be the only one-of-its-kind bridge in the Hungarian capital.

Pestbuda writes that the bridge will have relatively large dimensions for a pedestrian bridge; it will be 170 metres long and its tallest point will be the 65 metres tall pylon in the middle.
On another note, this modern bridge incorporates a few interesting architectural solutions. Due to the curved structure, the pedestrians will have a jaw-dropping view of the Danube, and the entire structure will be held via the pylon making this a cable-stayed bridge with an orthotropic deck.
