Miss Universe Hungary cheap dress scandal: “they wanted to silence me!”

The winner of Miss Universe Hungary, Viktória Jázmin, is still being threatened with the loss of her crown and title by the Hungarian organising team.

As we previously wrote, the girl represented Hungary in Israel, and an incident caused a big stir as the young girl had to go on stage in a HUF 10,000 (EUR 27) Zara dress. It was later revealed that her designer was unable to travel to her due to the covid situation, so she quickly ordered a dress for herself as a last resort the night before Miss Universe.

On top of that, she had no one to back her, her team only paid for her plane ticket, and she had to cover the rest out of her own pocket. Jasmine now spoke out publicly about being let down: however, this also means that she put her crown in jeopardy because she is under contract.

“They wanted to silence me, and they didn’t speak in my defence. Since then, they have been threatening me through their lawyers, trying to blame it all on me. They say it’s my fault that I embarrassed myself, but it’s not true,”

She received no training before the pageant, while other contestants were sponsored by world brands and backed by a professional team. Fortunately, she speaks five languages, so English was no obstacle for her, and she was able to cope.

“I asked my parents to transfer me some money because I didn’t have any clothes to go on stage in. I tried to contact the Hungarian organisers, but they left me alone, and after a while, I couldn’t reach them. I had no choice but to go into survival mode and start taking action,”
