The world’s first statue of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator was inaugurated in Hungary − PHOTOS

Hungary became the first country in the world to erect a statue of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. The life-size bronze bust was inaugurated on Thursday in Graphisoft Park in Budapest.
One of the greatest mysteries connected to Bitcoin is the identity of its founder, Satoshi Nakamoto. Some people believe that Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym used by the creator or creators of the cryptocurrency since it is unclear whether the name refers to a single person or a group of people. While several people have claimed to be Satoshi, the true identity has never been revealed. When creating a statue, the fact that we cannot connect a face to the name allows for more artistic freedom, but it also makes it very hard to sculpt an image of the person. However, according to András Győrfi, editor of Kripto Akadémia and the mastermind behind the statue, it is not the face or the identity that truly matters but the invention: the blockchain technology behind Bitcoin increases trust, traceability, security, and decentralisation, and it can revolutionise different areas of the world economy from food supply chains to humanitarian work, writes Telex.
The statue pays tribute not only to the creator of Bitcoin but also to the importance and the potential of the cryptocurrency and the innovative technology behind it.
