Hungary reports less than 900 new COVID-19 cases

Fully 68 Covid patients, generally elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, died over the past 24 hours, while 875 new infections were officially registered, bringing the total number of infected to 352,703, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.
The death toll has risen to 11,409, while 230,441 people have made a recovery.
The number of active infections stands at 110,853, while there are 4,445 hospitalised Covid patients, 330 on a ventilator.
Altogether 21,648 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out has risen to 2,963,613.
So far, 123,188 people have been vaccinated, mostly health workers, and tens of thousands of people living and working in nursing homes have also been vaccinated.

“Brussels is not delivering vaccine fast enough nor is it delivering enough vaccine to Hungary,”
the Government Information Centre said in a statement sent to MTI on Sunday, details HERE.

Most infections have been registered in Budapest (65,923) and Pest County (43,912) so far, followed by the counties of Hajdú-Bihar (20,028), Győr-Moson-Sopron (19,980) and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (19,722). The county least affected by the infection is Tolna (7,526).
Restrictions to stay in place until February 1
The government will keep coronavirus-related restrictions in place until February 1, and secondary schools will continue digital education, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said.
