COVID-19 deaths top 4,000 in Hungary

Fully 117 Covid patients, mostly elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, have died in the past 24 hours and coronavirus infections have risen by 3,929 to 181,881, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
Altogether 4,008 Covid patients have died since the appearance of coronavirus in Hungary, while 44,020 have made a recovery. There are currently 133,853 active infections and 7,598 patients are in hospital, 638 on ventilators.
Fully 41,557 people are in official home quarantine, and the number of tests carried out stands at 1,528,302.
So far most infections have been registered in Budapest (41,741) and Pest County (23,873), followed by the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron (12,410), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplen (10,744), Hajdú-Bihar (9,571) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties (9,449). Tolna County has the least number of infections (2,565).
New restrictions from today
Between 9am and 11am on weekdays and 8am and 10am on weekends, customers below that age are banned from shopping in grocery shops, household chemists and pharmacies.
Senior citizens have the right to shop at any time.

On November 10, lawmakers extended the government’s special powers by 90 days, allowing the government to suspend the application of some legislation, diverge from legal provisions and take other extraordinary measures by decree.
