Fidesz MEP: EU tyranny could take place of communist tyranny

Change language:

By linking European Union funding to the criteria of rule of law, an EU tyranny could take the place of the decades of communist tyranny, Tamás Deutsch, an MEP of ruling Fidesz-KDNP, said on public radio on Sunday.

“Thank you very much, we wish for neither eastern nor western tyranny,” Deutsch said, stressing that the aim is to force Hungary into letting in migrants and recognising same-sex marriages, while hiding behind the rule of law in a manner that is “untruthful and vexing”.

A fundamental condition of ensuring equal rights for member states is that everyone’s opinion matters on the most important issues and that everyone’s interests and positions are respected, he said.

The EU is founded on the effective cooperation of nation states, and the badge of this success can only be to remain on this path, he said. It is by no accident that the EU Treaties require unanimity of member states’ heads of government and state on the most important decisions, he added.

If a member state vetoes a decision, it is simply exercising its right to communicate that there is still no unanimity.

Deutsch said a consensus must be reached for the start of the EU’s next seven-year budget and the 750 billion euro recovery fund, “so a consensus will be reached no matter how contentious many are at present”.

  1. Tamás Deutsch is 100% correct in his assessment of those various ‘gantse machers’ (so-called BIG SHOTS) who insist on kibbitzing (OFFERING UNWANTED ADVICE OR COMMENTS) at every opportunity.

From European Commissioners like Dracula’s wife (a.k.a. ‘we’re over’ Jourova) to Elmer Fudd impersonators like Charles Michel and senile nonagenarians like George (‘My only aim in life is to make LOTS of money’) Soros, these ‘meshugeners’ ( LOONIES) have turned the European Union into a literal fools’ paradise.

It’s about time the entire E.U. ‘project’ either goes ‘back to the drawing board’ or collapses in a heap.

  2. If Hungary hates the EU so much, there is the door. Get out of the Union and say goodbye to it and to the money your little despot shamelessly begs every year. You can not bite on and on the hand that feeds you.
We, Europeans, do not need beggars and will not be missing Orbán.

  3. Mario suffers from ‘PEDO-ORITIS’ (better known as ‘foot in mouth disease’).

He PROUDLY states that : “We, Europeans, do not need beggars …”

Yet the E.U. – which he absolutely WORSHIPS – has ‘imported’ many hundred thousand such ‘beggars’ as ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS from Africa and other parts of the world.

The mainly-Muslim ‘illegals’ are only coming to Europe for the ‘freebies’ and when those are no longer available then these people will turn to BEGGING and / or CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES.

Mario’s on-going mental problems mirror those of many European Commissioners and their devotees.

  4. Personally, I agree with Mario for once. Hungary and Poland should be shown the door. Hungary and Poland and for that matter all of eastern Europe would be better off outside the wannabe Marxist E.U. I for the life of me cannot see what reason Hungary and Poland desire to remain in a tyranny after they finally escaped the Iron Curtain. I come to this site everyday and cannot wait to read the headline that Marios Marxist European Union imploded under all the weight of the migrant freeloaders..

  5. The anti EU comments above are somewhat curious. EU Commissioners are appointed by each democratically elected government of EU member states. The Hungarian Commissioner, Olivér Várhelyi was appointed by Orbán’s government to represent Hungary at the Commissioner College. His specific brief in addition to the usual duties of an EU Commissioner is ‘Neighbourhood and Enlargement – a key role because it includes:
‘Promoting good governance, environmental protection, the fight against corruption, the rule of law and respecting the role of independent media and civil society.
Exploring a comprehensive partnership to manage effective migration and support economic growth and jobs.’
If people like the commentators above do not like the work that Várhelyi is doing, then complain to the Hungarian government, after all, they appointed him.

  6. Just Saying “EU Commissioners are appointed by each democratically elected government of EU member states.”
“Appointed “is the key word. Not elected.
