The China National Tourist Office opened a regional sub-office in Budapest

The China National Tourist Office opened a regional sub-office in Budapest on March 4, 2014. The ceremony was held in the Vigadó Concert Hall, writes turizmusonline.hu.

Among others, the ceremony was attended by Péter Faragó, CEO of the Hungarian Tourism Ltd., Tamás Glázer, the company’s deputy CEO for tourism, Deputy State Secretary for Tourism Ádám Ruszinkó, dr., and Deputy State Secretary for Economic Development and Regulation István Lepsényi as well. The guests were introduced by Liu Cheng, director of the Budapest office of the China National Tourist Office.

Duan Jielong, the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) ambassador to Hungary said that more and more Chinese are interested in Hungary and other Eastern and Central European countries, and China also welcomes tourists from the region. Jielong added that the China-Hungary relation is really good, which was proved by the opening of the Central and Eastern European Tourism Coordination Centre in Budapest in 2015.

Jielong characterized Asia’s and Europe’s relation with a Chinese phrase “The more frequent relatives visit each other the further they get, but the more frequent friends visit each other the stronger their friendship will be.” Jielong added that it’s important for Asia and Europe to understand each other, to communicate, and to boost up cash flow.
