By targeting younger generations, Hunguest Hotels intends to strengthen further its market-leading role as the largest Hungarian hotel chain.
Hunguest Hotels, as the largest hotel company in Hungary, currently has 26 hotels in four countries and is the largest domestic chain in the commercial accommodation market.
According to the owner, as a result of the developments, significantly higher quality services will be provided at an affordable price.

The development can be realised thanks to the Kisfaludy tourism development program; within the framework of which, the hotel chain won EUR 49 million (~HUF 17 billion) for the renovations from the Hungarian Tourism Agency. Furthermore, the parent company Opus Global Plc. also provides more than EUR 77.8 million (~HUF 27 billion) in self-sufficiency; as a result of which, one of the largest hotel developments will be carried out in the forthcoming period.
As far as Hungarian resorts are concerned, 14 domestic hotels will change category, as a result of which these accommodations will be able to upgrade to four-star and four-star superior levels.
Due to their significant capacity and the number of guest nights produced, Hunguest hotels are the most significant tourist taxpayers in the affected settlements; accordingly, the 14 state-subsidized hotels pay almost EUR 7.2 million (~HUF 2.5 billion) of tourist tax annually. As the Hungarian news portal Origo reports, the higher standard of investment will result in an increase in tax revenues, such as VAT, corporate tax and business tax that support local government budgets.
