Change language:
The University of Szeged (SZTE) came first among all Hungarian universities on an international list compiled on the grounds of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. SZTE was placed between the 101st and 200th place out of the 767 universities ranked.
According to the Times Higher Education, the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. They use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach, and stewardship.
More Hungarian universities were ranked, and among them, SZTE became the first, Szeretlek Magyarorszag reported. The University of Debrecen was placed in the 201-300 category while the University of Pécs between the 301st and 400th place. Meanwhile, Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and Semmelweis University of Budapest placed only in the 401-600 category. According to SZTE, the experts who made the list
looked at 17 different areas at each university,
and that is how Szeged could finally win in Hungary.
- 8 Hungarian universities among top universities
- Hungary’s universities are top-ranked in the world
- Top 4 Universities for international students in Hungary
The ranking measures the economic and social impact of the institutions and compares them to the goals set by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Initiative. The experts who made the list took into consideration not only the teaching-learning processes at the universities but also the research projects conducted there, the good practices of how they operate, and all other factors from which people, the natural environment, the economy, or the governments etc. can benefit.
