Under two years, the traffic of the Liszt Ferenc International Airport of Budapest increased to its double. Until 2018, most people travelled to other airports of the EU from the Hungarian capital, and in December 2019 the airport reached 16 million passengers who arrived or departed from it.

The airline opened many flights to different countries on the continent and caused a significant increase. Eurostat released the statistics about the main destinations since 2001 from the Hungarian airport.
Frankfurt took first place but it is important to mention that many people only travelled here to get on transatlantic flights. Paris took second place while the third Amsterdam.
