Anaptár by Anagraphic – A Hungarian invention

Anaptár is the meeting of art and science. It is a unique, informative poster calendar, which is not only a work of beauty but also a source of fascinating new discoveries. The latest versions of the Red Dot 2015 winner and German Design Award 2016 nominated Anaptár are already available.

It is much more than a traditional calendar, it provides lots of information beside enumerating days in a visually enjoyable way: year, seasons, months, weeks, days, weekends, holidays, solstices and equinoxes, correction for summer and wintertime (daylight saving time), perihelion and aphelion, hours of sunshine, dawn, sunrise, culmination of the Sun, sunset, dusk, lunar cycles, moonrise, moonset, culmination of the Moon, cyclic alteration in the distance of the Moon to Earth, declination of the Moon, solar and lunar eclipses.

Wow, that is definitely overwhelming. It sounds like a lot, but it offers exciting visual experiences even for those viewers who are usually not captured by details and it actually makes astronomic correlations visible and understandable.

Anna Farkas, designer-graphic, initiated her own brand called Anagraphic in 1999. She mostly designs logos, emblems and brochures but she has also designed facades and packaging. She designed the first Anaptár is 2009 and comes out with a new edition every year.
