Will Smith had the most amazing time in Budapest

On Thursday, the Gemini Man campaign continued in the Hungarian capital. After the amazing concert Will Smith held in front of the St. Stephen’s Basilica, the actor and the producer of the movie held a press conference for Hungarian and foreign journalists and media organisations.
Index reported that the idea of Gemini Man was born back in the ’90s, but the technology could not allow the movie to happen. According to the story, the nearly retired hitman – played by Smith – is liquidated by his own bosses with his 25-year-old clone who is also played by Smith, but it is only a digital version of him.
Because of this digital technology, the creators of the motion picture were able to bring back the actor’s ’90s lookalike, which looks completely lifelike. Moreover, besides Columbia and the United States, several parts of the movie were shot in Budapest.

Smith was completely stunned and charmed by the Hungarian capital, calling it a little jewel in the heart of Europe with a rich and strong history. The actor especially liked that the old historical buildings were shaped into modern ones from the inside, and because of this mixture, the Hungarian capital embodies modern and old history at the same time. In the movie, Smith says the word Vajdahunyad (Vajdahunyad Castle in the City Park, the location of the movie) flawlessly, although he had to work hard to make his Hungarian pronunciation perfect.
No matter how hard Smith tried, he reported that Hungarian words could not stay in his mind because of the many consonants in the words.

The producer of the movie, Jerry Bruckheimer, stated that originally, they intended to shoot the movie in Paris, but after seeing some other locations, they immediately fell in love with the Hungarian capital and rewrote the picture’s script to be fit for Budapest. The movie’s biggest challenge was definitely creating Smith’s digital clone; to be more specific, the actor’s charm from the ’90s. They wanted to create the perfect digital Smith for the movie, which was hard work. At the beginning of the project, they even tried to make the younger version of Jack Nicholson, but according to the producer, it was terrible.
