BREAKING NEWS – Budapest-Vienna trains only run to border, says railway company – UPDATE

Budapest, September 10 (MTI) – As a temporary measure, Hungarian railways MAV will only operate its Budapest-Vienna service to the border station of Hegyeshalom, the company said on Thursday.
The Austrian OBB railways said earlier that it is temporarily suspending its Railjet train service between Budapest and Vienna due to overcrowded trains. It will also stop its regional services across the border. Ticket sales have been suspended for these destinations. Cross-border commuters and school children will be provided supplementary buses.
MAV said the suspension will also cause delays on the Budapest-Gyor-Hegyeshalom line.
MTI’s on-site correspondent reported that some 200-300 migrants boarded a train to Hegyeshalom at Budapest’s Keleti railway station shortly after 5:00pm with another 100 migrants waiting on the platforms just before 6:00pm. Migrants were told over loudspeakers that trains are only travelling to Hegyeshalom and that refunds can be claimed for international tickets.
The suggestion here of alternative transport and help for international travellers was not what happened last night at Keleti. The sleeper train to Munich and Zurich (supposed to leave at 21.00) was cancelled without explanation or any alternatives being suggested. With a number of other travellers, I was left stranded with no idea how I might get across the border so I could continue my journey through Germany and Belgium, back to the UK. Of course I appreciate that there is a difficult international situation occurring, but the train companies are pretending a concern for normal passengers that they are not exhibiting.
I will be grateful if some one can help me.
I am travelling on train from Zurich to Vienna on 25 Oct, on my way to Budapest. Any idea or wild guess is welcome, if some one can advise how the train traffic would be or likely to be, during that period.
