Decision has been made about the changes concerning hungarian universities

Change language:
The operation of Corvinus University of Budapest and some other well-known universities from out of town are now being changed. More exactly, probably the biggest change is that the faculties of Corvinus situated in Buda, namely the faculty of food science, faculty of horticultural science, faculty of landscape architecture will belong to Szent István University in Gödöllő. The estimated date of the reconstruction is the 1st of January, 2016. It affects 4500 university students.
László Palkovics, the Secretary of State of Higher Education, thinks that the main reason for the reconstruction is that the faculties of the two campuses practically operated separately. According to szeretlekmagyarország.hu he also said that three faculties of Pest went through some significant transformation and made agreements which can contribute to their development. He added that he is aware that the changes caused great tension.
At the same time, they don’t want to sell the arboretum of the campus of Buda. There’s going to be a new plan about the renovation of the campus and its functions in the future. 50 million forints is disposable for this. László Palkovics stated that Hungary is still a Budapest centred country; students like to study here so there’s no plan to resettle the campus. He ensured the teachers and students that there is no need to worry, they won’t have to move to Gödöllő to study and their interests won’t be hurt.
