The best low-budget destinations from Budapest – PART II

Change language:
Travelling cheap is not as hard as one would imagine, you just have to be patient. Travel blog Magical Europe has collected the best destinations from Budapest that would cost only a couple of thousands of forints. The following are the cheapest weekends both from the point of view of flight tickets and lodgings in the next six months.
Skopje

The narrow streets in the Old Town of Skopje will enchant you with their architecture and mood, and if you are in need of some refreshments, you can just choose from one of the many cafés and restaurants along these streets.
Visit the castle too, from where the view of the city is magnificent and where you can also grab some souvenirs and gifts.
Did you also know that there are numerous remnants of Turkish times in the Macedonian capital city?

Bergamo

We would like to highlight two main sights aside from the scenic panorama in the city, the cobblestone streets, the mediaeval quarter, and the delicious food. These are the Piazza Vecchia, the Old Town’s centre, where you will find the most famous sights, and the San Vigilio Castle, that was built in the 13th century. Since the castle is located on the highest hill in the region, the view from there is astonishing.

Podgorica

Podgorica is a great place to start your exploration of Montenegro. After you have visited the Orthodox church in the city, you can start your journey around Podgorica.
Magical Europe suggests checking out the Skodar Lake if you want to dip your feet, though the seaside is not too far away either.
Hop on a train and visit Budva too, as it is often referred to as the touristic capital of Montenegro.

Brugge

You can get to Brugge easily with the Flibco buses from the Brussels Charleroi Airport.
Once you get there, you will feel like you are in Amsterdam, thanks to the canals, though Brugge has its own unique treats, most noticeable when it comes to architecture.
The Oceanside close-by is a fun extra.
