Two Hungarian hotels chosen among TOP 28 of Europe

Turizmusonline.hu reports that the award ceremony of the International Hospitality Awards 2017 took place on 18 February in Kiev. The event was organised in the InterContinental Hotel. 250 people participated in the gala dinner crowning the ceremony. Among the guests, hotel owners, directors of the hotels getting into the final and other acknowledged experts working in tourism got an invitation. From Hungary, two hotels were awarded, which is a tremendous acknowledgement of their dedication and hard work. Here is what happened at the ceremony.

The International Hospitality Awards is a well-recognised event held by hoteliers and restaurateurs since 2011, and it is the professional acknowledgement of the outstanding performance of the best European hotels. This year, 315 hotels were nominated for the award from 21 countries, but the winners were chosen from the best 101 finalists.

From Hungary, two hotels, the PÁLOS RESORT from Zalacsány and the Corinthia Hotel Budapest, were awarded. The former received the Ethno Hotel award while the latter won the best MICE HOTEL title. On behalf of Corinthia Hotel Budapest, Anikó Nagy, Director of Local Sales received the prize while on behalf of the PÁLOS RESORT the owners, Dr Tamás Badacsonyi and his wife Nikoletta Kovács Badacsonyi went on the stage to take over the award.

In fact, the nominated hotels were evaluated based on both the opinion of the expert jury and the feedbacks given by guests on international hotel booking websites, like on Booking.com and TrustYou.com. Therefore, the final decision was made by considering the overall result achieved on the two sites (25-25%) and the opinion of the jury including the experts of the industry (50%).
