New Polish Prime Minister to visit Hungary at the beginning of January

New Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s first official foreign bilateral visit will take place in Hungary where he will have talks with Viktor Orbán. The visit will be held on 3 January, Bertalan Havasi, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski will accompany the Polish head of government on his visit to Budapest.

Mateusz Morawiecki has been Poland’s Prime Minister since 11 December after former Prime Minister Beata Szydlo resigned. Mateusz Morawiecki previously served as Minister of Development and Minister of Finance, and as Prime Minister he will continue to personally supervise both ministries.

Mr Morawiecki indicated at his appointment ceremony that his cabinet will be “a government of continuation” as regards the Szydlo Government.

He summed up his main goals as “prosperity for families”, “well-paid jobs” and “affordable housing for all”.
