(MTI) – The aim is Hungary become the leading country in Central Europe in the field of the use of the electric bus and electric mobility – Mihaly Varga, Minister of National Economy said in Budapest on Monday.

varga mihály buszThe minister said on the premier of the Hungarian-developed and produced electric bus of Evopro in Buda Castle that by 2050, the International Energy Agency predicts 70 percent of the newly sold cars will be electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid which is a huge challenge. It is a national economic interest Hungary to be able to get as much as possible to be involved in this development, for which technological innovation is necessary he said.

The minister stated everything is given for that. Anyos Jedlik plan and cluster also serves this goal, in which, inter alia, innovative, competitive Hungarian vehicles can be made, but Hungarian vehicle production does not lag behind the world standard – the Minister said.

According to MTI, Mihaly Varga also said that in connection with Anyos Jedlik plan, the government would like to help the spread of electro-mobility by legislative changes too. Among others, by creating the procedures of the installation of chargers, by the review and modification of the Electricity Act, by the introduction of green license plate for hybrid and electric vehicles, the introduction of parking and road toll discounts and the allowing to use the bus lane.
