This is what we lick this summer – ice cream trends in 2015

Change language:
2015 Ice Cream Exhibition and Festival was organized this weekend, where you could not only watch the ice cream miracles but also taste them. Almost everything, from the favorite ice cream of Hungary to the bizarre-colored ones, nlcafe.hu says.
Viva, Italia!
The producers of primary products were mostly Italians who promoted and sold their products with the help of Italian confectioners (and Hungarian hostesses). The biggest companies offered not just ice creams and dressings made of their products, but you could also see the process of production. The author says he experienced that Hungarians had not spoken foreign languages, they could not make contact with the Italians. The other remark of the author is that making ice cream is not rocket science: it requires only powder and paste.
Best business of the summer
Several visitors want to start now the best business of the summer. A publishing house-owner from Kisujszallas was especially interested in variegato offer (these are the lines, layers of the ice cream). He claimed ice cream was no longer cool without variegato.

Another crew is planning to sell ice cream around the Lake Balaton; they would not open a shop but offer their product by bicycle. They were interested in finished products.
The author also saw a wonderful ice cream car, which costs €35.000, so it is quite expensive. She also asked the price of a bicycle with a little parazole and icebox. It is HUF 890.000.
Hungary’s favorite ice cream and the trends
On Friday morning, there was the “Hungary’s favorite ice cream” competition in three categories (milky, fruit and reduced carb). The jury: confectioners, chefs, a sommelier and three young girls selected from Facebook looked and tasted the masterpieces of the competition.
According to Laszlo Selmeczi, director of the Hungarian Confectioner Industry Board said that everyone wants to come up with something special for the competitions, but they do not necessarily appear in the in the supply of the shops. As an example, he mentioned the foie gras ice cream of Pataki confectionery in Erd, which was not included in the daily offer. “You can create fantastic flavors, but at the end it does matter what the customers’ taste like, which one they buy”.
“Consumers are becoming more health conscious, which appears in the growing popularity of wellness and paleo ice creams, and on the other hand, use of natural materials comes to the fore again. A big hit is the use of herbs, for example, the basil (strawberry), the dill (white chocolate), the parsley (kiwi) or the ginger flavors” – Laszlo Selmeczi said to nlcafe.hu.
