They are the people you can cheer for in a Budapest Olympics

Origo.hu collected the talented, successful Hungarian teenager athletes who can be the favorites of a potential 2024 Budapest Olympics.

Mate Volkusz
The European Tennis Association chose the best of the U16 age group for the second time this year. The 16 year-old athlete from Budapest tripled, because he also was the best of the U14 in 2012. Nobody managed to do this so far. Valkusz is the 52. in the junior world rankings, he defended his Masters title, he was in the finals of the team- European Championship and got a bronze medal in individual.

Fanny Stollar
Still tennis: among the girls, Fanny Stollar excelled. She became adult national champion in 2012, when she was 13 years old, and this summer, in individual – and with Diana Galfi in team – she became U16 European Championship. She also won a bronze medal in doubles in the Youth Olympic Games. Her mother, Yvette Varga played tennis compeitively too, so she can support her daughter many ways, Origo.hu says.

Fanni Gyurinovics
The only 13 year-old Gyurinovics won six of seven numbers in the swimming national championship, even though she was not yet13 years old. Laszlo Kiss nationa coach took the apprentice of Sandor Szeles to the short track World Championship last year’s end. Like Katinka Hosszu, she is also from Baja, her strengths are breast and freestyle, she is an excellent medley swimmer. Uszovilag.hu wrote about her an article when she was just 7. Gyurinovics will be just 19 in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, she is expected to be in her best years in 2024.

Istvan Peni
According to Origo.hu, the 17 year-old shooter drew attention to himself 3 years ago, when he only lost 1,3 round from the world champion, Peter Sidi. He broke several national records in youth tournaments, so inherited much from his father, the elder Peni, who was a running target-shooting European Champion. Over the past 3 years, he was not worse, and even: he won in the Youth Olympic Games this summer, and he also became first in the contest of the Hungarian shooters in the Hungarian Open, in Szekszard. According to Sidi, shooters became ripe the age of 30 and can be active until their 50 years. Peni will be just 27 in 2024, so he is in a future dream team.
