51st Flower Carnival of Debrecen held without marching but was a great success – PHOTOS

Although the traditional marching of the Flower Carnival of Debrecen could not be held due to the coronavirus epidemic, the colourful and cheerful event on August 20 still attracted many guests and provided a unique and exceptional experience to everybody.
Sokszínű Vidék reported that the 51st Flower Carnival of Debrecen kicked off with raising the country’s national flag and blessing the August 20 bread of Hungary. This year, the traditional marching of the colourful flowery cars was not held due to the epidemic, and international dancers and musicians also did not feature in the carnival’s program, but visitors were not left without any entertainment.


In front of the Great Reformed Church of Debrecen, ten flower compositions were displayed, and later it continued in Nagyerdő, a city-part of Debrecen. All the compositions focused on protecting the environment and the beauty of flowers and nature.
