2018 a choice between ‘Orban or dismantling fence’, says ruling Fidesz party

Change language:
Next year’s general election will come down to a choice between Prime Minister Viktor Orbán or the dismantling of Hungary’s border fence, the ruling Fidesz party’s communications chief said on Sunday.
“We have a choice between protecting our country or allowing it to change forever,” Balázs Hidvéghi told a press conference, citing recent estimates, according to which 60 million migrants are expected to flee Africa for Europe over the coming years.
The “mass migrant invasion”, which “poses a fundamental threat” to Europe, is now in its third year, he said. Hidveghi said the ruling alliance was working to strengthen Hungary’s security so that its people “could raise their children in peace”.
“We would like to keep Hungary as a country of Hungarians,” he said.
Hidvéghi criticised the leftist opposition, which he called the “Soros company”, referring to US financier George Soros, saying that “all of them have made it clear that they are ready to accept mass migration”.
The communications chief singled out László Botka, the Socialist Party’s candidate for prime minister, who he said “went straight to Brussels after his nomination” to make it clear that he intends to dismantle the fence on the southern border.
